Lawrence I. Hollins
President
Mr. Lawrence I. Hollins is Founder and President of The Hollins Group Inc. As President, Mr. Hollins oversees executive search activities encompassing the firm’s Corporate Governance practice through its senior management and general practice areas. Additionally, he provides senior-level counsel around selection and career advancement to major corporations and high-level candidates. He also directs the North American operations of Glasford International, a strategic partnership of independent, retained executive search firms across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Mr. Hollins is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise, The New York Times and management trade publications on executive leadership and hiring trends.
Mr. Hollins spent the first 14 years of his career at The Quaker Oats Company, rapidly rising through the human resources ranks to become the Chief of Human Resources for the company’s chemical business. Following Quaker, he was Executive Vice President for James H. Lowry & Associates, which at the time was the largest African-American-owned general management consulting firm. Prior to launching The Hollins Group in March 1988, Mr. Hollins served as Vice President of Human Resources and a Corporate Officer for G-R-I Corporation, a consumer goods/direct mail marketing concern.
He is actively involved in the community as a Trustee of the Museum of Science and Industry and President of the Museum’s President’s Council. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America; Innervoice, a service provider to the homeless; and The Daniel Murphy Foundation. Mr. Hollins also is a member of the Alliance for Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE) and a past President of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC).
Michael S. Krause
Vice President
Michael S. Krause is Vice President of The Hollins Group Inc. Mr. Krause is the former Chief Operating Officer of Dillingham Construction of California. Prior to joining Dillingham, he was Chief Operating Officer of Syratech Corporation in Boston, a leading household goods manufacturer. Earlier, Mr. Krause was Senior Vice President of Operations for Tambrands Inc. and led the globalization of the firm’s worldwide supply chain assets prior to its acquisition by Procter & Gamble. His 22-year career at The Quaker Oats Company included assignments in the Foods, Chemicals and Fisher-Price divisions. Mr.Krause also held the positions of Senior Vice President of Operations for Goody Products, Inc. and Executive Vice President of Supply Chain for Stella Foods. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from The United States Naval Academy.
Charles E. Taylor, Ph.D.

Charles E. Taylor, Ph.D. is an Executive Vice President at The Hollins Group Inc. Dr. Taylor managesthe firm’s Southeast Region and leads our Education, Government and Non-Profit Practice. A former Partner of a national executive searchfirm, Dr. Taylor led the Education, Government and Nonprofit Practice. His career spans nearly 30 years in a variety of senior management positions, including President of Morris Brown College, President of Wilberforce University, President of British Petroleum Shipping, and Managing Partner of an international executive search firm office in Cleveland. Dr. Taylor has a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University and was recognized as one of the school’s “Three Hundred Most Accomplished Graduates.”
