The Human Resources Development Institute, Inc. (HRDI; www.hrdi.org) is a non-profit, community-based behavioral health and human services organization based in Illinois. Founded in 1974, HRDI today provides services in mental health, alcohol and substance abuse, community health and comprehensive case management, prevention and education, criminal justice, education, gambling counseling, and children and family services. From 2005 to 2006, HRDI served nearly 38,000 clients across 40 programs at over 20 sites throughout Illinois, Alabama, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
A full-time position based in Chicago, the President/CEO’s major responsibilities include leading the execution of the organization’s vision and strategy; analyzing and reshaping (as necessary) the organizational structure; functioning as a lead fundraiser and spokesperson on behalf of HRDI to all external constituencies; and keeping the HRDI Board of Directors apprised of progress against goals.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years in management of a social service agency or in a related field, with a minimum of five years of senior leadership experience. A Master’s degree and/or Doctorate in Social Work, Public Administration or related field from an accredited institution is preferred; a Master’s degree in Business or a related field is acceptable.
