YWCA Lake County – Illinois
President and CEO

YWCA Lake County is a dynamic, multi-faceted and county-wide resource for more than 65,000 women, children and their families. While its mission and purpose has remained the same since 1922, the YWCA Lake County’s programs have developed over the years to reflect the community’s changing needs. Today, the YWCA Lake County offers services and programs in four key areas: Women’s Economic Advancement; Women & Girls’ Health; Youth Leadership & Development; and Child Care Resource & Referral. Reporting the Board of Directors, the President/CEO will serve as the organization’s chief advocate and will provide visionary and transformative leadership by seizing opportunities and guiding the organization into the future.  She/he will elevate the YWCA’s community visibility, positive image and financial standing – further positioning it as one of the larger, go-to service organizations across Lake County.

With a strong mission-driven bent, the President/CEO will possess the leadership sensibilities to skillfully move the organization forward on all fronts.  She/he will have the ability to create a successful business case that resonates with potential supporters and donors and, thus, spurs involvement – financially, on the Board, and otherwise.  The organization’s stakeholders agree that the right President/CEO will see the tremendous potential that exists at YWCA Lake County and work selflessly and diligently to ensure a bright and successful future for the organization and the women, children and families it serves.

YWCA Lake County seeks candidates from the nonprofit, corporate or public sectors with a minimum of 5 years of administrative and managerial experience, including staff supervision and working with volunteers.  Other qualifications include: considerable experience working with a volunteer nonprofit board or other demonstrated community leadership experience; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; building the brand and image of the YWCA; acting as a strong advocate to all constituent groups; proven track record of raising funds either in the nonprofit sector and/or as a revenue/sales generator in the corporate or other sector.  A Bachelor’s degree is required.  Graduate degree preferred in a business-related discipline.  Click here to email us.

Northwestern University – Evanston & Chicago, IL
Director of Parking Transportation Services

Northwestern University is a major private research university with campuses in Evanston and Chicago in Illinois and Doha, Qatar. The Director of Parking and Transportation Services (Director) is expected to lead the University in visioning, planning and implementation of parking and transportation strategies, drawing on his/her experience and expertise in these areas to support the University’s strategic goals and high standards of service, accessibility and sustainability.  Working within the Department of Public Safety and Security, this position directs and administers university-wide commuter, parking, traffic, and transit/transportation functions to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police, the Director develops a world-class parking and transportation management system that offers the highest level of customer focus and service delivery to the University’s students, faculty, staff and guests.  He/she will demonstrate flexible, positive and assertive leadership while developing and supporting a responsive service delivery model that anticipates and addresses the needs of both campuses.  The person we seek will ensure that University operations continue uninterrupted during periods of public health or other emergencies, including those that require Northwestern University to close or restrict operations.

Applicants must possess at least five years of public administration, business, parking and/or transit operations or related experience.  Requirements include: at least three years of management and financial experience; strategic long-range planning; broad knowledge of parking, transportation, and transit system operation, safety and management; ability to conceptualize, design, and implement business and operating systems; excellent interpersonal and communication skills – including listening, negotiation, conflict resolution and persuasion; knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office; valid driver’s license; and a demonstrated safe driving performance. Knowledge of economic and public policy to shape transportation behavior is preferred, as is knowledge of transportation trends, laws and regulations. Yale University – New Haven, CT
Director of Facilities Services and Grounds Maintenance

The Office of Facilities at Yale University seeks an outstanding leader to serve as Director of the Department of Facilities Services and Grounds Maintenance.  Yale’s Central, West and School of Medicine campuses cover 1,000+ acres within the greater New Haven, Connecticut, area and include more than 440 buildings, encompassing 16.7 million square feet of space.  Yale is a “city within a city” for over 25,000 students, faculty and staff.

The Director will oversee 34 supervisors with ultimate oversight for 300 service and maintenance staff providing grounds maintenance (landscaping, snow removal, waste collection, and recycling services activities) for all three campuses of university properties, including athletic fields, green roofs, historic trails and botanical gardens.  Develop and incorporate innovative thought, technology, and best practices to continually improve how the organization functions and delivers services required to maintain and operate Yale’s buildings, including preventive maintenance, emergency response to all weather conditions and natural disasters, landscaping and construction projects, and support of special events and activities.  Create and implement safety training programs and sustainable programs and initiatives.  Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) or Facilities Management Certification (CFM) preferred.

Candidates for this position must possess: Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business administration, management or a related field; 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and demonstrated experience in a leadership position, including well-developed supervisory skills and experience with performance management and feedback.  Facilities leaders with experience participating in joint union labor/management initiatives preferred.
